Ever been to a pet shop or a pet store online, looking for a new collar for your dog and thought as you were browsing,”Meh. A collage of poo looks nicer than this…”? I’ve felt that too, way too many times, until I came across Blueberry dog collars. I’ve never looked back since as they pretty much sell the coolest dog collars on the planet.

I was looking for a collar for my working cocker spaniel, Lilly, and before discovering Blueberry collars, I had a horrible experience with the previous brand-which-I-will-not-name collar. So while out walking with Lilly, who was a two-month old puppy at that time, we were approaching the main road that was close to my house. Lilly basically pulled sharply into the bushes and the collar buckle snapped! Lilly had little to no recall training, and I was panicking for a full 5 minutes while I was trying to get my baby girl back. Luckily she didn’t run to the road and came back to me, and I carried her home.

Thankfully, I stumbled across Blueberry after lots of research and comments-scrolling. The collars range from tartan-style to detachable bow ties, to donut prints and jet plane prints collars, and luckily for floral-print lovers like my wife, they have plenty of beautiful floral designs to choose from. I bought my first collar soon after and they have served Lilly and me remarkably well. They give me a sense of security over Lilly due to their collars’ durability, and I do believe that Lilly stands out with her very pretty Blueberry collars. I have been a long-time admirer of Blueberry dog collars. So here are a few of the collars I have purchased and those I would love to recommend.

Welcoming Rose Flower Prints Girly Adjustable Padded Dog Collar

  • Made of high-density polyester webbing with a comfy neoprene bottom layer.
  • The metal D-ring is chrome-coated to add durability, the grey buckles are made of eco-friendly plastic.
  • There is a small loop next to the logo, to attach a dog tag or other accessories.
  • Adjustable, easy to clean and easy to use.
  • Machine-washable.

This was my first blueberry collar I bought for Lilly. Its survived through more than 2 years of everyday use, lots of scrapes through bushes and fences. The only reason I changed collars was that the colors started to fade a little and it had a few holes in it from the many adventures Lilly had put it through.

Blueberry Pet 12 Colors Classic Dog Collar

  • Nylon fabric with high density webbing to add durability.
  • Eco-friendly plastic buckles with a chrome-coated metal D-ring.
  • Machine-washable.
  • Adjustable and easy to use.
  • Can be personalized.

This is a classic bright block color design. Sometimes the simple designs are the most beautiful, and they are available to buy with matching lead and harness. Many color options to choose from. It is great for if you have a litter of puppies to identify them by color.

Spring Scent Inspired Pink Rose Print Ivory Dog Collar

  • Made of high density polyester, which imparts softness and durability to the product.
  • Made with a nickel-free coated D-ring to add durability.
  • The buckles are made of eco-friendly.
  • Can be personalized.
  • Machine-washable.

You can see Lilly is modelling my latest Blueberry pet collar. It’s very comfy and durable. I don’t like the personalized option and would rather have a tag attached. I bought this collar for the beautiful design. So far it has endured a few months of rough treatment and has been washed a few times.

Soft And Comfy 3M Reflective Jacquard Padded Dog Collar

  • Has 3M reflective threads stitched in part of the nylon webbing.
  • The metal D-ring is matte grey-coated to add durability.
  • Environmentally friendly.
  • Machine-washable.

This collar has a stylish jacquard reflective pattern. Having a reflective collar is essential if you walk at night a lot and will ease your worries of losing your dog. It comes in many colors, and a matching lead is available.

3M Reflective Multi-colored Stripe Violet and Celeste Dog Collar

  • The black color buckles are made from eco-friendly plastic.
  • Has two metal D-rings, are matte grey-coated to add durability.
  • A specifically designed loop for the purpose of dog tags and accessories.
  • Machine washable.
  • 3M reflective threads stitched in part of the polyester webbing.

A simple design with everything you could need in a collar. I love the small loop for a dog tag since fitting a tag over a metal D-ring can be difficult. Has the added safety of two D-rings. If you are struggling to pick a collar, this is a great choice. There are lots of designs to choose from.

Tips To Know Before Buying

There are a few tips I would like to share with you that you should know before buying a collar. Make sure that you measure your dog’s neck before buying and check the measuring chart to see which size you need. When measuring, you need to allow some room so that the collar isn’t too tight; 2 fingers between the collar and the neck is the best. If you find the measurement is on the edge of a size category when measuring for a puppy, buy the bigger size, and if your dog is fully grown, I would lean towards getting the smaller size.

Warning for those with very fluffy dogs, blueberry pet collars are generally a couple of centimeters wide. This usually isn’t a problem, but while scrolling through comments on collars, I have noticed a couple of complaints. The owners can’t see their beautiful new collar because it’s lost in the fluff! I don’t want you buying something that you won’t use, so please be aware of this.

Safe And Amazing Designs

Blueberry pet is one of my favorite pet brands. The colossal amount of designs they create while keeping the safety and durability of their collars is simply amazing. Almost all the collars have matching leads and sometimes harnesses if you are a person who would like to match their pet accessories. A few of the more recent releases are customizable where you can put a name and number. I prefer using a tag as I think having it written on the collar hampers the design.

Blueberry Collars have never let me down so far. I don’t think many brands can boast about having such a wide range of stylish pet accessories. Let me know what you think in the comments or if you have any questions for me.

  1. All these blueberry collars seem to be adorable and will be a wonderful fit for dogs. Though I don’t own a dog for myself I would love to get this for my friend who is a dog lover.

    1. Hello Kavitha,
I love blueberry pet collars, I don’t see any reason why your friend wouldn’t either! Thanks for the comment.

  2. I really love how they have woven in the 3M reflective threads into some of the models! We live in very northern Canada so in winter we only get to work her in the dark and I can see these working really well on my little Trixie. Thank you.

  3. Hi Andy,

Thank you for this insight, it was a fun read, and also useful. I really love the pic of Lilly in her rose print collar (that’s my favorite one!). Personally, I don’t actually like using collars on my little Candy (she is a miniature Maltese poodle with really long, fluffy hair), I prefer a harness. I just don’t like the idea of having her neck being tugged at. But that rose colour is sooooo pretty and I think that she would look so cute in it. Although, I appreciate the tip you gave about not seeing the collar amidst the long hair. Do you perhaps know if there is a rose print harness instead?

    1. Hey Zasibel,
Thanks for your comment, they do provide a harness in that rose print. I can understand you not using collars, I walk a few dogs that pull and feels like they are chocking themselves sometimes!
